General Questions

Where is Westmor Ballroom located?

Westmor Ballroom is conveniently located in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.

Is there parking available?

Yes. Convenient on-site parking is available for guests attending dance classes, private lessons, and special events.

Is the ballroom wheelchair accessible?

Westmor Ballroom features a wheelchair-accessible elevator for easy access throughout the venue. If you have specific accessibility needs, we encourage you to contact us before your visit so we can help ensure a comfortable experience.
Please note that our men's restroom is not wheelchair accessible. Our women's restroom can accommodate a wheelchair, although some guests may require assistance while using the facilities.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely is recommended. Dance shoes are encouraged but not required for beginners. Please avoid shoes with rubber soles or heavy treads that may damage the dance floor.

Dance Classes

I've never danced before. Can I still join?

Absolutely! Many of our students are complete beginners. Our instructors create a welcoming environment where you'll learn at a comfortable pace while building confidence on the dance floor.

Do I need a partner?

No. Most group classes rotate partners throughout the lesson, allowing everyone to learn regardless of whether they arrive with a partner.

What dance styles do you teach?

Westmor Ballroom offers instruction in a variety of ballroom and Latin dance styles, including Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Quickstep, Salsa, Bachata, Tango, and additional specialty classes throughout the year. We also have group lessons in ballet, modern dance, and hip hop.

How long are group classes?

Most group classes last approximately 45 minutes unless otherwise noted on the class schedule.

Can I attend just one class?

Yes. Single-class admission is available, or you can purchase a class package to save on the per-class fee.

Do class packages expire?

Yes. Group class packages must be used within three months of purchase. View our policies page to learn more.

Can I watch a class before joining?

To maintain a comfortable learning environment, we generally do not allow spectators during classes. If you have questions about which class is right for you, we'd be happy to help you choose.

What makes Westmor Ballroom's instructors different?

At Westmor Ballroom, you'll learn from some of Southern California's most accomplished dance professionals. Our instructors are National Dance Council of America (NDCA) Certified Teachers, a respected credential that reflects a high standard of technical knowledge, teaching ability, and professional excellence.


Many of our instructors are accomplished competitors, performers, adjudicators, and coaches with decades of experience teaching dancers of every skill level—from complete beginners and wedding couples to social dancers and competitive athletes. Their passion for dance, personalized instruction, and commitment to student success create an exceptional learning experience both on and off the dance floor.

Private Dance Lessons

Why should I consider a private dance lesson?

Private instruction offers personalized coaching tailored to your goals, whether you're preparing for a wedding, quinceanera or barmitzvah, improving technique, competing, or simply learning faster.

Can private lessons be customized?

Absolutely. Your instructor will tailor each lesson to your experience level, goals, and preferred dance styles. If you have a specific song for your first dance, our team will choreograph a special routine to wow your guests.

How do I schedule a private lesson?

Simply contact us through our website or give us a call to arrange a lesson time that works with your schedule. We also invite you to schedule a Complimentary 30-Minute Wedding Dance Introduction.

04.

What is your cancellation policy for private lessons?

Private lessons canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment are charged in full. Lessons canceled with more than 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled but are non-refundable. Read our Terms for more information.

Weddings & Special Events

Can I rent the venue space at Westmor Ballroom for private events?

Yes! Westmor Ballroom is available for weddings, receptions, quinceañeras, bar mitzvahs, corporate events, galas, fundraisers, birthday celebrations, dance showcases, and many other private occasions.

Can I schedule a tour?

Absolutely. We encourage prospective clients to schedule a private tour to experience the ballroom in person and discuss your event vision.

Do you provide tables and chairs?

Yes. We offer flexible room layouts and can discuss seating arrangements during your event consultation.

04.

Can I bring my own vendors?

In many cases, yes. Please speak with our event team regarding vendor requirements and approved services.

05.

Is there a stage available?

Yes. Westmor Ballroom features a built-in stage with a projection screen that's perfect for live bands, DJs, ceremonies, speeches, performances, and grand entrances.

06.

Is there a bar?

We do not sell or provide alcohol; however, our beautifully appointed bar area provides an elegant gathering space for guests and complements a wide variety of celebrations.

How many guests can the ballroom accommodate?

Westmor Ballroom can accommodate up to 499 guests. Depending on your event layout, we can comfortably seat up to 350 guests for a banquet or 400 guests for theater-style seating. Our team will help you determine the ideal floor plan and seating arrangement to bring your vision to life.

Wedding Dance Lessons

Do you offer wedding dance lessons?

Yes. We specialize in helping couples create memorable first dances, whether you want something simple and elegant or a fully choreographed performance. We encourage couples to schedule a Complimentary Wedding Dance Introduction session to discuss your big day.

How far in advance should we begin?

We recommend beginning at least two to four months before your wedding to allow plenty of time to learn comfortably without feeling rushed.

03.

Can you choreograph a dance to our song?

Absolutely. Our instructors can create custom choreography designed specifically around your music, experience level, and comfort.

Competitive Ballroom Dancing

Do you work with competitive dancers?

Yes. Westmor Ballroom welcomes competitive dancers looking to refine technique, prepare for competitions, or practice in a beautiful ballroom environment. Competitive dancers are best served during a private lesson, or may sign up to join our Friday and Sunday Practice Sessions.

Do you offer practice sessions?

Yes. Our Practice Rounds provide an excellent opportunity for both social and competitive dancers to practice multiple ballroom and Latin styles on one of Los Angeles' most beautiful dance floors.

Booking & Policies

How do I register for a class?

You can register online through our class schedule or contact us directly for assistance.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards and other common payment methods. Please contact us if you have questions regarding payment options.

03.

Are refunds available?

Group class purchases and packages are non-refundable. Please review our cancellation policy or contact us if you have questions before registering.

04.

Can children attend classes?

Most classes are designed specifically for adults, while others may welcome younger dancers. Please check individual class descriptions or contact us for recommendations.
