WEDDING DANCE LESSONS IN LOS ANGELES

Your First Dance. Your Love Story.
Your Moment.

Your wedding day is filled with unforgettable moments, but few are as personal and romantic as your first dance together.

At Westmor Ballroom in Los Angeles, we help couples turn those first steps onto the dance floor into a beautiful memory. Whether you're dreaming of an elegant Waltz, a romantic Rumba, or a fun, unexpected dance that surprises your guests, our private wedding dance lessons and personalized first dance choreography will help you feel confident, comfortable, and completely connected.

WHAT WE CHOREOGRAPH

Wedding First Dance Choreography Designed Just for You

No two love stories are alike, and your wedding first dance shouldn't be either.

Our professional ballroom dance instructors work with you to create custom wedding first dance choreography that reflects your personalities, complements your wedding song, and feels natural to perform.

Whether you envision a simple, graceful dance or a fully choreographed performance with memorable turns, dips, and a showstopping finish, we'll design a routine that suits your comfort level and wedding vision.

01

The First Dance

Three minutes your guests will hold their breath for.

A fully choreographed routine to the song you choose — built to your strengths, disguised to look effortless, and rehearsed until it feels like it was always inside you.

02

The Parent Dances

The quiet heart of the evening.

Father-daughter and mother-son dances composed with the same care as the first — tender, unhurried, and simple enough to dance with all eyes on you.

03

The Wedding Party

Your favorite people, moving as one.

From a graceful processional entrance to a show-stopping group number, we rehearse the entire wedding party until twelve left feet read as one production.

04

The Evening's Arc

Entrance to last dance, staged like a film.

Grand entrances, transitions between courses, the last dance of the night — we choreograph the moments between the moments so the whole evening moves like cinema.

Our goal isn't to turn you into professional dancers overnight. It's to help you look and feel like the best version of yourselves.

HOW OUR WEDDING DANCE LESSONS WORK

From Your First Lesson to Your First Dance

✦ Step 1: Tell Us About Your Dream First Dance

We'll start by getting to know you, your wedding plans, and your vision. Have a song picked out? Wonderful! Still deciding? We can help you explore dance styles that complement your favorite music.

✦ Step 2: Create Your Personalized Dance

Your instructor will help develop a first dance routine based on your song, experience level, and the amount of time you have before your wedding. Whether you prefer a few elegant steps or a complete choreographed performance, your dance will be uniquely yours.

✦ Step 3: Learn, Practice & Perfect

Through one-on-one instruction, you'll build confidence with each lesson. We'll help you refine your movements, improve your partner connection, and practice until your routine feels natural.

✦ Step 4: Enjoy Your Moment in the Spotlight

When your wedding day arrives, you'll step onto the dance floor ready to enjoy the music, each other, and a moment you'll remember forever.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Dance Lessons

Do we need dance experience to take wedding first dance lessons?

Absolutely not! Many couples come to Westmor Ballroom with little or no previous dance experience. Our instructors will teach you everything you need to know, starting with the basics.

Can you choreograph a first dance to our wedding song?

Yes! We can create personalized first dance choreography based on your chosen wedding song, preferred dance style, and experience level.

When should we start taking wedding dance lessons?

Ideally, we recommend starting lessons two to three months before your wedding — however, we can also work with couples who have shorter timelines. We will use your time to help you learn your steps, build confidence, and enjoy the process.

What if we only want a simple first dance?

That's perfectly fine! Not every couple wants an elaborate performance. We can teach you a few beautiful, easy-to-follow movements that make your first dance look natural, elegant, and romantic.

Can we learn a wedding dance other than the Waltz?

Of course! Depending on your music and preferences, we can incorporate Foxtrot, Rumba, Salsa, Cha Cha, Swing, or a combination of dance styles into your first dance.

Do you offer private wedding dance lessons in Los Angeles?

Yes! Westmor Ballroom offers private dance instruction in Los Angeles, including wedding first dance lessons and personalized choreography for engaged couples.

Can you choreograph a dance for my wedding party?

Yes! In addition to first dance choreography, Westmor Ballroom can create a custom dance for your wedding party. Whether you want a fun entrance, a surprise reception performance, or a fully choreographed group routine, our instructors can design something that fits your music, group size, experience level, and wedding style. No previous dance experience is required—we’ll break the choreography into easy-to-learn steps so everyone can feel confident and have fun.
